Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Our Manufacturing Managers, Sal & Larry, chose one employee of theirs from each division to recognize them for their achievements so far in 2016. They were chosen for many reasons but one that has stood out for both is their dedication to their job and their substantial work ethic. Springfield Spring is pleased to introduce our impressive team of engineers. In the Connecticut division is our Tooling Design & Product Engineer, Chris DeStefano. Chris has been with Springfield Spring for three years working out of our Connecticut plant & also assisting Massachusetts facility. Chris has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with continuing education in their graduate program pursuing a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. In his spare time, Chris is also on the Board of Directors and current Board Secretary for the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association. Chris is a true outdoorsmen. From hiking to snowboarding to sailing, Chris loves to travel to new adventures.
In the Massachusetts division, we have Malissa Vyce. Malissa loves to camp, hike, kayak & garden during the beautiful weekends in New England. She is an avid softball player playing short stop and third base for her team, The Resisters out of North Hampton, Massachusetts. Malissa loves her canine kids, Duke, a Lab Mix and Gus, her rag doll cat.
Malissa Vyce has been with Springfield Spring Corporation for three years as the Director of Corporate Quality & Regulatory Affairs for all sites and is located out of Springfield Spring’s Corporate Headquarters – Massachusetts Division. Malissa is a degreed Mechanical Engineer, she studied Mechanical Engineering at Holyoke Community College, as well as a Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Malissa is also a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, which she earned at Central Connecticut State University. Malissa comes to Springfield Spring with over six years of Management and Engineering work experience in the medical device industry with a focus in project management, regulatory compliance, validations, product development, test method development and Quality Control & Assurance. Malissa played an instrumental role in Springfield Spring’s successful ISO 13485 Medical accreditation.
We are super excited to have such an amazing team of engineers here! We are all prepared to bring each and every customer to our “Springfield Spring Experience.”
Springfield Spring Corporation employees enjoyed a terrific summer treat with ice cream trucks visiting both CT and MA divisions. This surprise event happening in appreciation of hitting the historical $1 million dollar monthly sales mark yet AGAIN this year! President Norm Rodriques, and Vice President Tina Malley invited employees and families to indulge in a summer lunch of soft serve cones, push pops, banana splits & popsicles.
